player a sense of adventure and action just like the music’s creator wanted it
to feel like. The original creation of this piece of music was to the games creators’
design of a freely adventured open world for the player to discover.

Mood
The mood this piece of music provides is that of a space fuelled
adventure as the player simply listens to the music whilst waiting on the main
menu still waiting for the start of the game. The music may only appear in the
menu but it is still important as the creator decided to make it less prominent
than that of the game itself this makes the music more important to the game as
it gives the complete tone of the game right when the player starts of the
game.

The mood that Skyrim’s
main theme gives of is that of an action filled adventure that is the massively
open world that is Skyrim. Right from the get go the player starts to get into
the adventurous mood that the games music provides to the player.

Mood
The genre defining music and sounds that Wolfenstein
provides is a masterpiece. The feeling that it gives the player is one that
lets the player feel the fear of being imprisoned in a Nazi infested
castle and having to fight your way out.

Mood
The battle theme of stronghold 2 is one that makes the
player feel the fear and power of an imposing force battling the player this
piece of music is one that makes the player immersed inside of the game making
it better than if it was just silent this means that the original creators
piece of music works perfectly for the games background.
Sound FX is very important as music due to the need for
things like small insignificant sounds that
make the game more immersive like a death sound being an ouch sound or
simply it could also be a short piece of music that is designed to make the
player feel sad about killing the character they controlled. Music and sound FX
is very important for games for the sole fact that they make the player
connected to the character in a multitude of ways.

Waveform in the descriptive image of how we see sound. It is
shown as a wavy line that is in essence the single note that a tuning fork
makes. The highest part of the wave is representing the pressure of the sound whilst
the horizontal length represents the length of the sound being played

Wavelength is how the horizontal length is measured.
Amplitude
Amplitude is the measurement of the height of a wave.
Frequency
Frequency is the number of waves within a second.
Pitch
Pitch is simply how high or low a note is and is used in
music more than it is sound FX

Hertz is how frequency is measured and is used to calculate
what frequency certain wavelengths are on.
Decibel level
Decibel level is the way of measuring how loud a sound of
piece of music gets this means that for professional recording studios they recorded
all the music by a decibel unit this is how they judge what is the best volume
for that sound.
Sound generator
A sound generator is a piece of software or hardware’s that
creates a synthetic sound for the purpose of creation music or a sound that is
within the game.
Folly is the use of
artificial sounds such as a cracking door is used from some form of hinge that
creaks in real life.
Timbre is they definition of differences in musical sound
such as the difference between a guitar and vocals.
